Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) is a public technical university located in Surat, Gujarat, India. It was established in 1961 as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering and Technology and was elevated to the status of a national institute of technology (NIT) in 2002. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, science, and technology.
SVNIT is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' grade. It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The university has a strong focus on research and innovation and has collaborations with leading universities and research organizations both in India and abroad. SVNIT is offering Six UG Programmes, Eighteen PG Programmes and Three M.Sc. Five Years Integrated Programme including doctoral programme in different branches.
