Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU) is a public university located in Vadodara (formerly Baroda), Gujarat, India. It was established in 1949 and is named after Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the former ruler of Baroda. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). MSU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in various fields of arts, science, commerce, management, law, and technology.
History:
The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda was established in 1949 as a result of the merger of two existing colleges - the Baroda College and the Maharaja Pratapsingh College. The university was named after Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, who was a renowned patron of education and the arts.
