Gautam Adani is an Indian billionaire industrialist and the founder and chairman of the Adani Group, a multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The Adani Group operates in several sectors including ports, logistics, energy, agribusiness, and defense.
Adani was born on June 24, 1962, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. He started his career as a diamond sorter and later became a diamond trader. In 1988, he started Adani Enterprises Limited, which initially focused on trading in a variety of commodities. Over the years, Adani diversified his business and entered the infrastructure sector.
Under Adani's leadership, the Adani Group has become one of India's largest conglomerates with a presence in more than 50 countries. The group's flagship company, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, is India's largest private port operator.
